You'll often hear that the Bible says 'do not be afraid' 365 times — one for every day. It's a lovely idea, but no single translation or counting method actually produces 365. The exact phrase 'fear not' appears 62 times in the KJV. Broaden the search to all reassurances about fear ('be not afraid', 'do not be afraid', 'do not fear') and you land somewhere around 70–100+ depending on translation and method. We show the verifiable phrase count and tell you the legend is a legend.
How we count
The "365, one per day" claim is not supported by any single translation. 62 = exact phrase "fear not" in the KJV.
